Sunday: Classic Banana & Strawberry Smoothie

smoothie with banana and strawberry

Yesterday was the last day of our smoothie week and I hope you all managed to keep this little challenge up. Sunday's should be easy going, don't you agree? That's why I decided to make myself a simple an quick smoothie on the last day of this challenge. This also might be due to the fact that I'm a lazy person, especially on weekends. Anyway this is the perfect smoothie for a Sunday, as you probably already have the ingredients in your fridge.

What you need:
  • 1 banana
  • 1 handful chopped strawberries
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 - 2 ice cubes
Preparation:
Wash your strawberries, chop them into little pieces, as well as the banana, pour all the ingredients in a bowl and mix everything by using a blender.

Again a very sweet smoothie, but bananas and strawberries are definitely always a good way to go for.
I hope you guys enjoyed smoothie week. Maybe some of you are even incorporating this in their daily life? I for myself have to agree, that it was fun to do for one straight week, but I'm honestly not gonna keep this one up. I'm just not enough of a morning person. I don't like getting up early and I am absolutely not going to do it for a smoothie. Besides that, I'm a slow drinker and a smoothie takes me like forever to drink. But it really was fun for a week and it made me feel a lot healthier.

American Pie's Bring Back Memories

American Pie movies - so funny
film poster from wikipedia

I know, I know the American Pie movies aren't the most intellectual ones, but they so do remind me of the time when I was a teenager. The times we taped silly movies on video, like Scary Movie, Black Friday and of course American Pie. Those films were really big then, especially the first and the second one.
I literally spent the whole weekend watching every American Pie movie that exists. And besides the fact that they aren't profound at all, I still think they're so funny. Doesn't funny sound good to you?
If you haven't seen these movies yet and you don't mind silly jokes and a lot of awkward scenes of teenagers exploring their sexuality, you should give them a try. If your answer is no to all of the above only watch them if you were a teenager when they came out. Just for the good ol' times.

I added a filmography of all the American Pie movies down below, including the trailers.

College Girl

college girl

Hey guys, I hope you're all well and enjoying the mellow weather?
It's really amazing, besides that we didn't have a real winter here this season, spring arrived early this year. I mean this is just awesome, on my opinion it could be like this every year. Of course I couldn't resist, just had to put on sneakers. For the first time this year, yey! I chose to keep the rest of the outfit springlike too by wearing a college jacket instead of a coat. Besides the sporty college girl look always works for a casual spring day.

  • t - shirt: souvenir (10.00 Euro)
  • college jacket: forever21 (24.90 Euro)
  • jersey miniskirt: H&M (9.90 CHF)
  • stockings: H&M (9.90 CHF)
  • sneakers: gift
  • tote bag: H&M (9.90 CHF)

What are your favorite pieces for spring? Feel free to share your spring look or comment down below.

Saturday: Lychee & Strawberry Dream Smoothie

smoothie with lychees and strawberries

Did you ever have a smoothie with lychees? Well honestly I haven't, so I absolutely had to try a combination with these little sweet tasting buddies. And here's what I came up with, a smoothie with lychees and strawberries. Sounds promising right?

What you need:
  • 1 handful strawberries
  • 1 handful lychees
  • 1 cup coconut milk
Preparation:
Peel the lychees, wash strawberries and lychees and chop them in little pieces. Mix everything in a bowl, using a blender.
If you want to, you can sprinkle some grated coconut on your smoothie, just for decoration.

Although this smoothie is really sweet, I totally loved it. So yummy guys! Definitely going to try out other combinations with lychees.

Friday: Tropicana Smoothie

smoothie with tropical fruits

Hey guys,
unbelievable that we're already through with our cleansing smoothie week, don't you think? Wasn't that hard to keep up with it right? Or did you had your difficulties?
I also wanted to apologize for uploading my smoothies late. So today I will post the smoothies I made Friday and yesterday, tomorrow I will share today's smoothie.
And I promise to you that this smoothie is so yummy you'll be all eager to try this one.
Mainly the name says it all, it's a smoothie with tropical fruits. Sounds delicious right?

What you need:
  • 1/2 mango
  • 1 cup pineapple juice
  • 1/2 cup coconut water
  • 2 ice cubes
  • 1/2 passion fruit
Preparation:
Peel the mango and pineapple, chop them into pieces and mix all the ingredients, minus the passion fruit, in a bowl using a blender. Pour your smoothie in a glass and sprinkle on some passion fruit seeds.

It's a really refreshing and sweet smoothie, I would say perfect for summer days.

Lovely Sunday #15

Lovely Sunday #15

Sunday again, I can't believe how quick this seven days went over. And so does my week off too. Although I' starting work again tomorrow, I definitely hope that I can keep up the good spirit posting on my blog frequently.
I'm gonna keep it short today, sharing right away my weekly online findings. Because I kind of still have a translation work and a term paper waiting for me to get done.

Sneakers are Trending My World

sneakers are trending

It's Saturday, which means it's time again to share with you what is kind of big in my little world right now, namely sneakers to straightly point at the topic. You may have guessed it already anyways, as spring is starting in my town. Yes, spring totally is sneakers time!
Truthfully spoken, I'm not the girl who has tons of sneakers in her closet, but I have a few pairs that I absolutely love. I even constantly replace them, if they get too damaged and ugly. Does this happen to you guys too?
As we are talking about sneakers and I'm really loving them at the moment, I added some cute pairs for you down below.

Duty in Blue

delivery duty in blue

Today I felt like a mail woman in this blue outfit with my striped pants. Mainly also because I was delivering a lot of invitations for my best friends wedding. It's going to be this August and I really can't wait for it to happen. Happy bridesmaid, yey!
With this very important duty in mind, I wanted to wear something comfortable, but still stylish. I decided to go for an outfit with a slightly androgynous touch. And the color blue just seemed perfect for a delivery day.

  • white blouse: H&M
  • striped skinny pants: Jeans Factory (15.00 CHF)
  • oversize cardigan: thrifted
  • brogue: H&M (29.90 CHF)
  • necklace: H&M (9.90 CHF)
  • earrings: Claire's

Pastel Color Hair Spray: Got Some Questions

pastel color dye spray

Hello guys, I recently got myself a hair spray to dye my hair pastel pink. Actually it's not permanent. After a shower the dye should wash off immediately. I also read the instructions and it says that the spray should not be used on dyed or bleached hair.

Now here's the thing, I haven't bleached my hair entirely, but I do have a lot of fine highlights, which kind of are bleached, I guess. Like 3 or 4 months ago I also got my hair dyed apricot blond. So what do you think, should I use this spray or rather not? Even more important what could happen if I used it?

You see where I'm going here? I really really want to try this spray and it wouldn't matter to me if it would be a permanent color. But work doesn't allow it, so this really has to wash off after a few days.
Hopefully somebody of you guys have an answer to my questions.

Leather meets Fluffy

wearing my leather skirt

Today I felt like combining my fake leather skirt with my fluffy jacket from H&M. I know this look kind of has a lot going on, but I really really like it. And it's just enough fancy and crazy to make a quick visit to the carnival.
Yes, right it's carnival time here, not my favorite time, but don't worry I'll get over it. :)

  • crop top: H&M (14.90 CHF)
  • fluffy jacket: H&M
  • fake leather skirt: Amy Gee, bought at zalando (44.00 CHF)
  • stockings: H&M (7.90 CHF)
  • Dr Martens look alike boots: Bata (49.90 CHF)
By the way in the fashion world it's all about fake leather for quiet a while now. That's why I decided to jump on the wagon and the reason I absolutely needed this cute little skirt. Besides that it gets crinkled quick, which is kind of annoying, I really really like it.
What about you, did you get yourself a fake leather piece too?
Next I'm looking for a pair of fake leather skinny pants. Does anyone have any suggestions or a pair that you can absolutely recommend?

Au Revoir Winter Boots

wearing my winter boots

I'm pretty sure that winter is over or at least I'm telling myself that, because I really want to believe, that the thermometer won't drop below zero degrees anymore. So I decided to wear my winter boots for the last time today to say a proper goodbye. See you guys in about 7 months!

  • classic, white blouse: H&M
  • v - neck sweater: gift

What about you, did you already pack away your winter clothes and boots? I never separate winter and summer clothes, as I like to wear a few winter pieces in summer and vice versa. Only winter boots, I definitely don't need those during the warm months.

Thursday: Green Apple & Lime Smoothie

smoothie with green apple & lime

I'm going to start right away with today's smoothie. For those of you who don't know what this is all about, you can find all information for this little healthy challenge here.
Thursday's smoothie contains a lot of vitamin C to provide you with enough energy to start your day. And if you ask me, citrus fruits are always a good way to go.

What you need:
  • juice from 3 limes (I also added the pulp)
  • 1/2 green apple
  • 1/2 cup greek yogurt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 ice cubes
Preparation:
Chop the green apple into little pieces and add all the other ingredients. Mix and mince everything with a blender.

This smoothie isn't on the sweet side, but it's so good believe me. And if this one isn't your thing, just remember that you're doing something good for your body and soul with this smoothie week.
Any smoothie suggestions?

Wednesday: Winter Smoothie

Smoothie with winter fruits

Good morning dear smoothie fans. Are you ready for day 3 of our challenge?
Today's smoothie contains typical winter fruits, just perfect for still chilly spring days. Yeah, ok, this smoothie would be even more perfect for winter days. But hey, spring is the season to cleanse your body, right?

What you need:
  • juice of 2 Oranges (I added the pulp)
  • 1 cup tangerine juice
  • 1 banana
  • 1/2 cup greek yogurt
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
Preparation:
Chop the banana in little pieces. Mix all the ingredients with the help of a blender until your smoothie has the right texture. You can add a few ice cubes, if you want to.

I have to admit I really liked this one, especially it's fizzy taste. To be honest it didn't surprise me at all. I'm that person, who appreciates a good glass of orange juice with breakfast, so I just had to like this smoothie.

DIY Ideas #1

I'm kind of busy working a lot and making my PhD, so I really don't have a lot of time for diy projects. Honestly mostly I'm just in for a good book or a movie after working days and not devoting any time creating lovely things myself.
I'm sure there will be a time in the future, I'll have more time and motivation to create some pieces on my own again. But for now, you're bound to consider yourself satisfied with this feature, which I hope pleases and inspires you all a little bit.

Casual vibe

wearing my converse look alikes with stars

Today was one of those days I felt like putting on a simple, and most important a comfortable, outfit. A pair of leggings, an oversize blouse and I'm ready to do some errands.
Oh and by the way, casual outfits are always a perfect opportunity to put on your fancy sneakers, don't you think?

  • leggings: H&M (9.90 CHF)
  • sleeveless blouse: H&M (ca. 29.90 CHF)
  • jeans blouse: gift
  • converse look alike sneakers: Dosenbach (ca. 19.90 CHF)
  • bracelet: old
casual vibe

What are your favourite casual looks? What pieces do you like the best to go with your casual looks? On my opinion those are mostly sneakers, cardigans, leggings and jeans.

Winter Salad

Winter salad

Lately I'm experimenting with adding fruits to meals and this salad is one pretty good outcome, I came up with a few weeks ago. Normally I don't like bitter things, but in combination with fresh and sweet oranges, it didn't even bother me. I actually kind of liked the subtle bitterness of the salad.

What you need:
  • 1 - 2 handful sugarloaf chicory
  • 1 orange
  • 2 tablespoons seed mixture
  • 4 - 5 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • salt & pepper
  • grounded onion and garlic
1. step:
Wash every single salad leaf and arrange it nicely on a plate. Peel the orange and completely remove the skin. It resulted to be quiet difficult to get the skin removed without tearing apart the orange slices, at least for me. I wasn't able to remove it completely. So if anyone has a tip how to do this perfectly, please tell me.

2. step:
Arrange the slices on top of the sugarloaf chicory and sprinkle your seeds over the salad. Mix all the remaining ingredients together for your dressing and pour it over the salad.

Do you have a great recipe with fruits? Feel free to share.

Books I Read Lately

book review - me before you

As you guys may have noticed, it's been a while, I talked to you about the books I'm reading. So I'm making amends for that by presenting you a bunch of books today. I've read all of them recently.

Ya - Yas in Bloom - Rebecca Wells
Book review - YaYas in Bloom
from  amazone
First of all, I apologize for posting a internet picture, but I returned the book to to the library and totally forgot to take a picture before bringing it back. So much for that, now about let's talk about the "Ya - Yas in Bloom".
Honestly I do not like stories without a continuous storyline. This one tells stories from different moments of the Ya - Ya girl's lives rather that it follows a strict course. Despite that the book has some adorable parts, for example when they all go to a Beatles concert. I was so jealous of them, as I would love to see the Beatles. Although the story wasn't quiet my thing, the whole 60ies vibe definitely made up for it.

Love in the air - James Collins

book review - Love in the air

Guys you have to read this one, asap! You know those books you think you got it all figured out and then there comes a twist and changes all, leaving you with no clue? Well this story is one of these and it actually left me without a clue quiet a few times, just after I thought everything would work out for Peter and Holly.

I've Got Your Number - Sophie Kinsella

book review - I've got your number

This book is worth reading too, although it doesn't has as many twists as "Love in the air", but still a sweet romantic story. Sophie Kinsella always is a perfect go to, if you're looking for some good light fiction. So I can absolutely can recommend you this book. Go get it and find out how your world can change when your phone gets stolen.

Me Before You - Jojo Moyes
Let me just say one thing, this story isn't for the light - hearted ones. It's a really sad story and you will go through tons of tissues, believe me. But it's so worth it! The first book I read from Jojo Moyes and I have to say, she has a new fan. "Me before you" is absolutely fantastic from the first page until the last one!

That's about it, those were the books I read lately.
Now tell me, what recommendable books did you read lately or are you reading at the moment?

Thuesday: Avocado & Pear Smoothie

avocado & pear smoothie

Second day of our smoothie week, I hope you're still all in on this?

Today I made myself a smoothie with avocado and pear juice, based on this recipe from Martha Stewart. I just had to try this one out, as I really really love avocados and never had them in a smoothie. I only adapted the amount of ingredients and switched the vanilla extract and honey for greek honey yogurt, the rest is identical to the recipe mentioned above.

Here's what I used:
  • 1/2 avocado
  • 1 1/4 cup pear juice
  • 2 - 3 tablespoons greek yogurt
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • 1 ice cubes
This smoothie was absolutely new for me and I kind of had to get used to it's taste, but after a few sips, I really started to like it.
What smoothie did you make yourself today?

Frozen - a Magical Winter Wonderland Story

Frozen - Walt Disney
from DisneyWiki

I know, I know I'm way too late watching winter movies, but this one is a Walt Disney production and I really absolutely freaking had to watch it, as I'm a big sucker for Walt Disney films.
If you haven't seen this one, please get some tissues. I mean as beautiful as Walt Disney movies are, they're also kind of sad too.

Frozen basically is the well known story of the ice queen, what you may have already guessed by the name of the movie. The first time I read this story I was still a kid, so I got quiet excited wanting to know, how Disney implemented the whole story.
To be honest they changed the storyline a bit, but the adorable princess Anna and the breathtaking winter wonderland, completely made out of ice and snow, make you totally forget about the fact that the story isn't exactly authentic. Oh and I mean, who wouldn't like to have a talking snowman as a friend?

This movie is absolutely worth watching every second, inclusive every shaded tear. Although I would love if it were like the old Disney movies, as they are my favorite ones. I definitely prefer them not to be computer animated.

Have you seen Frozen? Did you like it or is this a movie you wouldn't even watch?
